Taft's passion for sports was nurtured at young age. She had been born into a sporty family. Although she was a competitor in a variety of sports throughout her time in college and during school, it wasn't until later that Taft made the decision to concentrate on broadcasting. Taft's professional career started at Fox Sports North in the role of a sideline journalist as well as a regional affiliate following her completed her Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism from Boston University.
